Power of creating yourself
Since childhood I have dreamed of traveling. Growing up in Nyeri, the central part of Kenya, I got to enjoy the magical views of M.T Kenya from my early age. Later on, I started high school which was located inside Mount Kenya National park! From the windows of our dormitories, we always felt like magnificent M.T Kenya was calling us. It was not unusual for me and fellow boys to sneak out for adventures in the forest. It was during these expeditions that I started falling in love with nature and developed a passion for seeking adventures and travelling.
After high school I moved to Nairobi for college education and with collegemates our adventurous spirits led us to explore the hidden gems of Kenyan. We loved enjoying the ageless beauty of Nairobi's skyline from bird eye view or from land.
Sometimes we would meet at Kenya's oldest skyscraper and then take a walk in the city. But no matter what our journey always ended up at Uhuru Park. At the park we could relax at first and end the day with a paddle boat ride to Nairobi Arboretum. This is how my love with nature started. This is how I realized that nature had given me a new meaning of life. I became addicted to travel. I couldn't end a week without planning for an adventure or just taking a walk in the city or in the village nearby. I wanted to discover as much as I could so that I would be satisfied and with joy after I got home.
Recently I have become a lonely traveler. Travelling alone has taught me how to really enjoy my own company and make new friends with strangers. The world we live in; nature, goes out of its ways to provide us with the perfect locations in which we can be alone or as a group whether it be at the top of the mountain, in the middle of the jungle or even down at the coast on one of those gorgeous uninhabited beaches, there is always a cute little corner where you can be by your lonesome.
I love travel and adventures, and every new day I yearn for a new experience through being away from my comfort zone. I like interacting with nature, finding what it has to offer me and get to know cultures so that I can learn from them. To me every day is an adventure. Life is not about finding yourself but it's about creating yourself.
